I want to get STEAM (science, math, engineering, art, and math) activities in my classroom. The majority of my students are low income and do not have very many resources in their home. Covid caused many deficits in my students. Reading and math are obvious deficits, but social skills, problem solving and reasoning are others. I want to integrate STEAM lessons into my curriculum, but I do not have enough resources for a classroom! I want to use STEAM activities in small groups to allow them to work and problem solve together! I also want the students in my class to be excited about STEAM. I have included materials such as teacher manuals, magnetic blocks, building blocks, coding robots, and other open-ended activities to use in my classroom in a variety of STEAM leasons. STEAM leasons will teach my students hour to work together, problem solve, discover science, engineering and technology concepts in a fun and exciting way! By working in small groups and problem solving together it will them grow socially and emotionally in the classroom by exploring together. The students will work in small groups to problem solve and learn STEAM. This will help them close the deficits caused by Covid-19.
