The Phonics Tiles will give students an opportunity to listen to the individual sounds in words, match the sound with a letter, and build the words. It's especially helpful that the tiles include digraphs, two letters put together to make one sound like th, ch, and sh.
The emergent readers will give the students the opportunity to practice prereading book skills, like reading top to bottom and left to right, learning the front and the back, and identifying words and pictures. The decodable readers will give them a chance to break words apart into individual sounds and put them together to read words. The word family books will help them recognize patterns in the graphemes in words. The sight word books will give them the opportunity to identify and read the words most commonly found in English.
