I teach a variety of groups in a variety of grades - as such, each of these items are meant to be used by a different amount of groups and their varied skill levels.
These items have been chosen to make making up for the learning lost due to COVID-19 fun, engaging, and more importantly, accessible.
By contributing to this project, you will be directly supporting students with mild/moderate emotional, academic, and cognitive disabilities in the special education classroom.
More than anything, I want my students to feel comfortable and safe in my classroom, and providing them with an atmosphere that meets those needs is a high priority of mine. For example, the seat cushions in the project allow them to quietly and safely wiggle in their seats and the personal lights allow me to keep the bright overhead lights off and give them relaxed lighting that they can adjust to their own personal tastes. Additionally, a lot of my groups are reading focused and the games make working on those skills fun while still directly targeting specific skills.
Providing these students with these choices and accommodations will motivate them to take charge of their learning and their learning environment!
