We will be using the resources to create fun, engaging activities that foster the desire to learn about culture, learn the language, engage with peers, and most importantly WANT to be in class. I feel like if the student wants to be in my classroom, they will learn. Not only will they learn the subject but they will learn how to be comfortable around a diverse group of peers. They will also learn how to believe in themselves and have self-confidence. They will learn to laugh with their classmates, relax, and have fun. I feel my kids need this during this isolating pandemic. It's about connections and getting students back into the school schedule. I will use the costumes for skits that the students work together on, the games to help students play together as they learn, and the books to strengthen and encourage growth in their reading levels. In Mrs. Maylett's class, we build safe, fun learning spaces together! We know our why and we reach every day.

About my class
