This year, we have seen such a huge reading gap because of the inconsistencies of being in school during the COVID Pandemic. The majority of my class are reading way below grade level. Many are below grade level in math as well. And while they want to learn, they need fun, engaging activities that keep them focused and learning.
I do Daily 5 in Reading every day as well as Daily 3 in Math. This project will help me put targeted and differentiated reading activities into the Daily 5 rotations. These activities will have my students working independently to improve their reading through partner reads and reader's theater. And the games will allow them to practice the reading skills and strategies they are learning and strengthen those.
In addition, the Reading Intervention kit will provide me with some effective tools to use during my small group reading sessions. All of these items will integrate into our daily learning routines and will help my kids become better readers!
The math games will fit perfectly into our rotations and engage students in a fun practice activity to solidify their math skills.
