There are 6 different types of items I have selected. The first and second are a collection of insects and the items associated with the Aerogarden (baskets, sponges, domes, nutrients, and seeds, I already have an Aerogarden farm). In fourth grade, we study animal adaptations and animal and plant internal and external structures. Both the collection of insects and plants will be used to support the learning. Since I do not want to show my students actual car crashes, I have included a Hotwheels Criss Cross Crash Track. Not only will they learn, but they will also have fun doing it. The rocks and fossils kit and magnets will help with teaching students about what is in the Earth. Which is another unit of study for fourth grade. Lastly, the microscopes will be used to observe everything up close and personal. And to create, in writing, a world about all the small things they see.
