The students I work with often have trauma that is image based and are challenged to tell their story with words or feel shamed by vocalizing their experience. Sand Tray therapy allows a child to share an experience, often at a level that is subconscious and has no words. They also can "picture" a future or goals that are future driven. Sand Tray is an evidenced based practice using the power of healing through "play". I have seen it's use in my office, with children playing out their story and processing the pain into a memory rather than an active pain impacting their daily lives. I work at 4 schools and have one set, so I am asking for additional supplies to access services to more children.
