I will be using these materials to help the socioemotional well-being of my students. As a school psychologist, I have the opportunity to do tier one interventions like mindfulness that can help make the whole school a better place. I will make calm-down kits for each classroom and teach the students how to use them to self-regulate. I will use the "Little Spot of" books to teach emotional awareness and the ability to calm down and regulate. I will also make sand trays that can be used to help children process their emotions and trauma in a small group or a one-on-one setting. These materials will help prevent emotional outbursts at home and at school.
