The demographics of my school have created a unique environment where many of my students don't have any books at home. In my experience, when students own something, they appreciate it more. By students having their copy, they can read at home, and we can discuss things about the book at school. These discussions are more valuable than anything else and help them become more involved in literature. This can also help them become more complicated later on in the schooling, hopefully helping them advance their education. Also, this will be very helpful if we have to go to virtual school again.
