First and foremost thank you for providing this opportunity for teachers! As a first year teacher myself for the Oakland Unified School District, I am personally striving to be the best teacher I can be and to provide the best possible education to my students. It has been difficult to obtain the funding necessary to provide students with the materials needed to make their class experience even more engaging and effective! This project titled "Financial Literacy Book Club", will provide the students with the resources needed to learn about the concepts of budgeting, saving, investing, and debt! These books also foster personal development, a growth mindset and grit/determination. I have personally read most of these books and they have made a substantial shift in the trajectory of my life and career. I hope to do the same with my students. Thank you for your consideration!
