As teachers continue to close the gap in learning in the classroom; they fight for students who have been affected by COVID-19. The resources I chose will help my students to become fluent readers, science skills, and social studies skills. Items I have selected items that I will use as incentives to complete homework, which, reinforces concepts taught in class.
Kindergarteners start on the level of phonemes in our orthographic language. They learn letters have a name and a sound. And then sounds make words. If students can master this concept they become good decoders while reading. If students are great readers they can read social studies, science, math, and various other subjects with ease. This, in turn, helps with reading comprehension. These items will help ensure my students have an opportunity to learn in several different ways: auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and reading/writing. As a teacher, I want to give my students every opportunity to show and develop mastery.
