Our 5th grade team currently has one novel as a class set. The students have enjoyed the book and are eager to read from other novels. As a team, we have selected The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane to continue our class reading of novels. In addition to being fun and exciting for many students, having another novel will further their comprehension skills. In addition, there will be opportunities to promote listening and speaking skills. We have assignments developed that will build written expression as well. Homework is a part of our novel reading. Our goal is to accumulate 3 different novels that will carry us from September though May. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane will be the second of three that are planned.
