Students will build background knowledge through literacy based language interventions. They will learn new vocabulary and language skills not known to them previously. They will also be more engaged and hands on with these materials. Many of the students are not able to access the world in the normal way due to COVID-19, so these literacy based materials will help build their vocabulary and background knowledge in context by helping them explore the world in pictures. Students are more successful at acquiring vocabulary and other skills when it's based in books.
