My students are in need of better Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), both individual and in groups. The books will have a great impact on their emotional learning since they are about emotions and expressing emotions. I can use the books in classroom lessons and individually with certain students to help them learn how to cope with big emotions. The iPad and case will help my students in Social and Emotional Learning by providing easy access to apps and videos. The case is just for protection so the iPad can be used for multiple years. There is a website that my district uses, Everyday Speech, that helps students with their social skills by showing videos and doing small activities, but it is hard to do on a computer or even a Chrome Book. Having an iPad will make it easier to show my students these videos and do the activities with them. For the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I would like to use it to get more curriculum on SEL, specifically classroom lessons, and small group lessons. There are many small groups that I would like to start with some of my students, but do not have the resources to start them. By using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to get those resources to teach my students, I'll be able to teach them skills to cope with anxiety, how to make friends, how to cope with anger, and more.
