These literacy activities will help to build my students' reading and speaking abilities, helping them to understand how to form sentences and words. Vowel and spelling tubs will help students who struggle with basic vocabulary, as well as those students who commonly mix up vowel sounds.
This selection of books will help to increase the diversity of culture and language in our classroom library so that my many English Language Learners can see themselves represented in our classroom materials. The book of reproducible Level A stories can be used to send books home for children to share with their Spanish-speaking parents. This will not only help to build literacy skills at home, but will also help kids and parents to connect in very stressful and trying times.
