Students in my classroom repeat the mantra "The one that works the hardest wins." In every subject my students work hard, but sometimes hard work just isn't enough. I often have the students work on the computer or with paper and pencil because those things are readily available. However I find that real success comes with real life experiences. Hearing a real live weather forecast, building an electrical circuit, seeing math in a real world application, and reading about things that are both interesting and on level are key to a solid education. The items I am requesting will fill those current voids in the classroom and provide years of help for me as a teacher and my students.
