I try to create a fun, welcoming, and educational environment for my classroom. I work with middle school students who need extra social, behavioral, emotional, and executive functioning supports. I have created an ocean-themed room with an ocean tapestry and inspirational ocean animal paintings on the walls. I have a couple of bean bags in my room and some other comfortable chairs for students. I also do my best to pick the best books to use to help my students achieve their goals.
These donations would help to continue the vision of a comfortable, calm, and fun ocean-themed classroom. I used to work at an aquarium and I personally loved watching the jellyfish. I have seen that students love having classroom pets. I thought it would be fun to have pet jellyfish for our room! The jellyfish lava lamp would work perfectly!
This is also my first year and I am in need of some books and games on various topics. I know that these supplies will really help my students continue to reach their goals! For example, many of my students struggle with organization and submitting all of their assignments. The HOPS program books will help students learn these skills.
