In my 22 years of teaching, I have found that giving students the opportunity to engage in STEAM learning activities gives them the chance to focus on a positive and exciting project. As an online teacher, I am always looking for ways to reward my students for their hard work in their curriculum and for making progress.
Covid has really kept us apart. Prior to Covid we had monthly STEAM activities where we would meet at a library and learn and do projects together. Now we can't gather as usual, I would love to reward my students with science, art, and math games and projects that they can keep and use at home in their learning. They will then share the end results online with me and the rest of their classroom about what they learned and how the project rolled out.
As students school online at home, rewards can really give them a boost and the encouragement to keep moving forward. These STEAM materials will be used to reward students who have completed their curriculum to 90% and I will select certain ones to reward students who have completed their curriculum to 100%.
