Students are relearning how to engage in groups in light of COVID-19 isolation. Reading Circles and book clubs are a great way to facilitate small group engagement and growth. With these funds, I will purchase books that are engaging and build upon the core curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to select a book and join an in-class book club to help them engage with peers through reading. I will be purchasing fiction books that relate to the WWII theme and Anne Frank Unit. I will also be purchasing books related to our Outsiders Unit. I will also direct funds to flexible seating to allow students comfort and enjoyment as they work in their book clubs.
