COVID-19 made it difficult for my students to access the same quantity and quality of therapy due to a variety of reasons. Students with speech and language impairments require specialized and individualized instruction to make adequate progress. Communication skills are vital to each individual's quality of life and self-confidence.
So often, the students that I service are the students who are affected most by the COVID-19 pandemic. Having access to additional iPads will allow for my students to get more individualized practice and repetitions during group therapy sessions. While learning from others' mistakes in the group is also valuable, our therapy groups are larger than average this year, and having the opportunity to get more practice repetitions during the same period of time would be highly valuable.
