My students are highly interested and motivated in learning about modern day technology. One of the modules in our class is a Virtual Reality unit. We are currently using Google Carboard goggles paired with their phones in class. With some students not having a smartphone device, or a device capable of going online, it’s difficult to run the module. There are also a lot of constraints with the tool.
With a VR goggle like Oculus, students can experience VR in a whole new level! My students will try out different simulations, test their fears, and reflect on the impact of Virtual Reality.
We’ll have open discussions of how VR could be used in our day to day lives, and how it could be used both positively and negatively.
Who knows? The students may code and develop their own VR reality in our coding and design unit! Or a VR tour of our campus? There are many possibilities!
