I give my students 10-15 minutes of silent reading at the start of each class and I really try to sell the idea of reading for enjoyment to them. Having more current and more diverse options will be exciting and more meaningful to them! I have a lot of materials to use when it comes to my classroom library as well, such as genre selection quizzes, book and reading responses, book talk and sharing processes, and so on. I want to help my students cultivate a love for reading and sharing their reading with others.

About my class
