Every Wednesday is elective day at our school and each teacher is in charge of their own elective. Music is my passion so I chose Music Appreciation as my elective class. In this class, my students are learning about lyrics, genres, decades, and much more related to music.
I thought about another way to spark their musical interest and learning an instrument came to mind. The recorder is completely outdated and most kids do not like it so I thought of another instrument that I love and already know how to play. Ukulele came to mind right away. With this donation my students will learn about the strings of the ukulele, as well as hand placement so they can learn to play any song of their choosing!
