The Special Education students are having a hard time transitioning back to full days at school after a year of shortened days and a midweek day off. Having flexible seating will help these students move and relax as they have a hard time staying in school for the full school day. Students will also be able to use these seating options as sensory outlets.
The classroom materials requested will also help students work toward IEP goals that are individualized to each student as well as general classroom materials that help teachers prepare and create the materials needed for each student to access learning in the most appropriate way based on their specific disability or learning needs. The classroom storage options will be used to help students have specific locations for their own IEP learning materials to help reinstate learning routines that were lost after a year of Covid learning.
