As a class, we are constantly learning and looking for new ways to learn. We have had to make our own manipulatives for small groups, and having a set of word builders and linking cubes will save us time from finding our made manipulatives that are getting lost on a regular basis. Our whiteboards are following apart, and many aren't double sided. We have had to find work arounds for a whiteboards, and having new ones to replace the ones that are falling apart will make a few students very, very happy. When in small groups, I don't have a big enough whiteboard to use while helping the group. I've set up a four small whiteboards to accommodate, and we always get a laugh when one falls or I grab the wrong one. If I don't have to set up one every time, we will have more time in our groups and practicing our phonic skills. Test dividers are essential in our classroom, as sometimes when we are reading or writing we want to do in privacy and away from distractions. This year we having been using our class folders, and they are always falling down and causing frustration among students.
These may seem like simple items one may want for their classroom, but for us they will help our lessons greatly. Everything will have a place and will be used a daily basis. We can replace old materials with new materials and each student can have their own set of manipulatives and won't have to worry about sharing or trying to find the ones they made. As a class we will succeed together!
