In today's world, the opportunity to travel has been hindered due to various circumstances. I want to ensure that my students can be immersed in our beautiful and diverse world right here in the classroom! Today's generations are forgetting how to properly use a map, and physical maps of the world that are currently in use in most schools are severely outdated! Having these maps available in the classroom will help my students (whose social studies standards focuses on world history) to truly understand the makeup of their own country as well as other nations as we learn about the physical and political geography of Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and even Antarctica. Students will benefit greatly from the use of the Leapfrog Magic Adventures Interactive Globe. The advantages of using a Cricut within the classroom are staggering, but the most vital use for this tool will be to create personalized materials for my students to ensure they have a welcome and safe learning environment. It will also allow my students to have visuals of the various languages and sites of the world. Through engaging in this interactive learning globe they can experience new places, languages, cultures, animals, geography, habitats and more through high-quality BBC videos. Studies show that this self-driven form of educational exploration is what promotes engaged learning in students. Students who were previously showed disinterest in the geography and cultures of the world will now have this knowledge at their fingertips.
