Students have struggled with retention and engagement of math skills due to Covid-19. Often our students are quarantined or need to stay home when sick. To help increase student engagement I want to include task cards, assignment, and review activities that include color. This will break up the monotony of assignments and help students be able to practice reading color histograms, scatter plots, linear graphs and box and whisker plots. I can also create engaging review game with images to make the review more exciting and make the application of the word problem clearer. The images will also help students with language needs, like English Language Learners or Reading Disabilities, to better understand the context of the math problems.
Math is better in color- assignments, review actives, and task cards will help motivate the kids to learn and engage with the math. Keeping my students engaged will help to close the learning gaps that grew during Covid-19, help students learn new material, and retain it better since it is presented in a memorable way.
