Most of my students have had little or no previous experience in social and educational settings because of the Covid pandemic. My students are struggling both socially and are behind academically, especially in literacy.
An iPad will help students in my class fill the gaps that have been created because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will allow my students access to supplemental materials specific to their individual needs to help strengthen their phonemic awareness and phonics skills. My goal is to use the iPad, with applicable apps, as a resource to help give them the tools they need to become great readers.
The requested phonics resources will also give them much needed hands-on-practice and reinforcement to also help fill some of the gaps in their literacy learning.
