The Buddy burners we are making are to show the students the law of conservation of energy in action. The wax for the candles will burn to create heat and smoke and the wax will decrease as the heat and smoke increase. They will all keep their Buddy burners to use on campouts or just at home to cook what they desire.
The Buddy burners that don't get taken home, we plan on donating them to the homeless, so they have a way to heat food or boil water to make coffee. I want the students to feel like they can help themselves and others who are in need.
