The tools that are included on this list will enable me to bring the world a little closer to my students, and to continue our classroom's work on creating community close to home with international connections. We read many books from diverse authors to give different perspectives, and we need a few more.
Individual projects in class use consumable materials because I want students to take examples home to spark conversation with families and continue their exploration of cultural traditions and connections. We need multicultural construction paper for these projects. We also need maps to help give us context for what we are learning and to supplement our knowledge of different communities.
