The flexible seating will allow my students the opportunity to move around while still working at their desk. Due to COVID-19 and staying at home, it is hard for students to stay still and focused. This will allow them to move around my classroom to continue learning, without distracting their friends.
Hands-on learning is essential in first grade. Students always want to touch everything. The best way is to combine educational material with fun hands-on manipulatives. I will use them during small group lessons at the horseshoe table. Learning phonics can be fun, we just have to use materials provided.
