As a first-year bilingual teacher, my classroom library is in great need of books in Spanish and English. Throughout the year I have witnessed how much my students love reading. As avid readers, they enjoy discovering new words, phrases, and idioms. With such a generous gift, I will be able to provide a variety of books for my students. Through the Readers' Workshop, they will be able to choose a wide variety of books to read with pleasure. Then, they will use Google Slides to write their questions and summaries of each chapter. Reading these new books will help them to increase their comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, communication skills, imagination, and explore the worlds of literature in English and Spanish. With this project, my students will continue learning cultural ideas, concepts, ways of living, celebrations, and a vast world of possibilities that are offered from reading books. Most of all, the love of reading in two languages.
