The students will work in small groups to take care of their caterpillars, and watch the transformation to butterflies before their eyes. They will journal as the butterflies move through the different stages of the life cycle. Having a hands on approach will make Science more exciting and help them remember the concepts well into their futures. When the butterflies have are ready we will plan a release on the playground to celebrate. Providing opportunities for kids to read, write, and talk about the changes they're observing will make this learning experience more meaningful. Raising butterflies provides lots of real-world experiences and many learning opportunities!
