Children intuitively know when their bodies need more sensory input, by having a hammock stand and a hammock chair my students would be able to receive the input they need for calming, thus possibly preventing meltdowns or other behavior issues.
Due to the pandemic, my students have been in and out of school. That transition back into the classroom can be difficult for them because they are very routined. The slightest change can cause anxiety that creates a meltdown. A swing would give the sensory input to calm themselves as they come back into the classroom.
