PreK students have been impacted dramatically by COVID-19 by not allowing them to engage with their peers. Due to the aspect of virtual learning, students haven't had the opportunity for as much hands on learning as well. This has been a detriment to students.
The new STEM materials will benefit the students by promoting curiosity, inquiry, and social interaction with their peers. These manipulatives will be perfect for centers, group activities, and individual learning. STEM training for early childhood can also impact a child's learning in literacy and language development. Students using these STEM manipulatives will enhance their ability to ask questions and expand their language by interacting with other students.
STEM learning also teaches important skills in both math and science. These two subjects are known to be areas that some students tend to struggle with. By incorporating these materials into the classroom, students will be strengthened in these areas and build a strong foundation in math, science and reading.
The storage units will help students by giving students easy access to the STEM manipulatives that will be used on a daily basis. The shelves are perfect for teaching children to sort the materials and maintain organization so others may enjoy the STEM learning manipulatives.
This grant will help students to engage in active learning and enjoy the excitement of new STEM materials.
