As a result of the pandemic, our students have relied heavily on virtual learning and learning in socially distanced atmospheres. Because of this, we have not gotten the chance to do a lot of group work or group labs. This project will help us to obtain the materials we need in our science room to be able to perform experiments and labs. These materials will benefit my Environmental and Physical Science students for some time to come. For example, the litmus paper will allow my environmental science students to test the pH levels of common household items. The electric circuit learning kit will allow my physical science students to watch the circuits they learn about work in real time. The timers, rulers, safety goggles, aprons, and trays will make performing labs in class easier, cleaner, and safer. By incorporating more hands-on learning such as this, students will learn to use their social skills once again and return to learning in a fun and exciting way. They will also learn to bounce ideas off of other classmates and be more receptive to different ideas.
