During the pandemic, my students were frequently taken out of the structured classroom environment due to shutdowns, quarantines and etc. Since the return to the classroom, they have found it difficult to readjust to more structured environment that requires them to sit and focus on instruction. My project is to attempt to ease this transition back to the classroom and formal instruction by providing different seating options that allow for movement and a choice in types of seating to promote concentration and focus during instruction. Having a variety of options for seating during instruction will empower my students to find what encourages their mind and body to focus on the tasks at hand most efficiently while sitting during instruction and independent work.
