The items I am requesting are for play-based learning in the classroom. I believe that young children learn best through play, hands-on manipulatives, collaborating with their peers, and problem-solving. The items I have requested focus on STEAM-based learning.
I have requested a class set of headphones. Headphones will alone my students to incorporate TECHNOLOGY into their classroom education. While working independently on their Chromebooks, students can use their headphones to not disturb their peers. I have also requested a few different options for ENGINEERING. Engineering will allow my students to use their critical thinking skills to problem-solve, while also building valuable social and collaborating skills. I also requested pastels to incorporate more ART into my classroom. Art, along with engineering will provide opportunities for my students to be creative and express their individuality.
Along with my STEAM items, I have requested items that will increase my students' fine motor skills, while still working on their critical thinking skills, and social skills as their work together to complete puzzles. The Popitz I have requested will allow my students to have hands-on learning during their Phonemic Awareness lessons. As my students practice the skills of segmenting and blending words, they will be able to have hands-on manipulatives to help with their understanding. The items I have requested will allow my students to learn the curriculum while also incorporating important developmental skills.
