As a result of the pandemic, my students are dealing with more inconsistency resulting in higher anxiety and stress. Students with disabilities and social-emotional needs greatly benefit from an environment that will help them regulate their emotions and behaviors. This project will provide sensory integration items that will provide an outlet to meet sensory needs. Studies have found that students are more engaged in learning after participating in sensory breaks. Sensory breaks involve providing sensory - rich items such as weighted animals, movement activities, and sensory bins to help students regulate behavior. Through this project, increased resources will be available, which will result in improved educational outcomes for my students as well as those around them.
