The items I'm requesting will be used to support a highly researched-based behavior skills learning program (Dr. Greg Hanley) designed to improve student cooperation, endurance, and persistence/resilience. Students need to love being at school before they can learn and these items actively contribute to helping them feel safe, connected, and confident about learning.
The sensory items will be used to help students relax in their environment. The Lego and remote control car will help students see school can provide activities to which they can connect. Counters and recordable buzzers will be used to help students to develop new communication skills. Games will be used to teach students turn-taking and collaboration with peers.
