These materials will help to restock our library, which is the most important classroom in the school. With reference materials and opportunities to explore different worlds, cultures, and ideas, the kids immediately want to create! Due to Covid, we had very few children in the library the last two school years, and it has been a neglected resource. It is time to restock and encourage exploration again! We lost our librarian due to Covid affecting her family, and have had a substitute and volunteers for the majority of this year. As the new librarian / Library Teacher, I want to repair a large number of books that have been donated to our school, using the book tape I requested, and increase the materials the kids have access to. We will also begin to explore more genres and resource material, and with a hands-on learning platform, the library is in desperate need of art supplies, crayons, markers, scissors, and storage bins. All of which I have requested. Getting these supplies means that the remaining funds we have can be directed to increased shelving and seating for the children. I want to get the children BACK into the library quickly. Currently, it has not been stocked regularly, or any books repaired due to not having a long-term librarian in class.
