My project focuses on the extra support needed for foundational reading instruction. As we know young children learn through direct instruction, play, and practice. These learning games will be used to create experiences where they can practice skills that have been taught.
After reviewing letter and letter sounds as a class, a fun way to practice is by playing letter bingo! This will create a fun and competitive but effective way for the students to practice letters. I can also use these games and activities for small group instruction.
With these games, the students will have many opportunities to practice prereading skills and letters and sounds, sight words, building words, and much more!
