These items will give my students a relaxing area in my classroom where they can feel comfortable reading individually or with a friend. They will select a book from my bookshelf on their reading level to help increase their love for reading and it offers extra practice to increase their reading ability and comprehension.
For example, when a student completes their daily assignment they can go to the reading center, relax on the bean bags or on the carpet and read a book of their choosing on their reading level. They will get extra practice in reading as well as building confidence in their ability to read out loud for group reading time.
