My students have difficulty engaging with traditional worksheets; however, they benefit from sensory items, assistive technology, hands-on manipulative learning tools, and unique activities that better help them understand and connect with their lessons, tasks, or skills. My goal for these requested items and activities will be to help my students re-establish routines, prompt calmness, help initiate engagement, and focus on tasks. They will also help me rebuild face-to-face interactions and communication with my students. The predictable text materials will engage my students in the reading process by encouraging verbal responses. The sensory activities will help my autistic students relax, focus, and remain calm during activities. The large interactive manipulative center will be a great way to start our classroom morning routine. Large puzzles, shapes, prewriting activities, and easy-grip scissors will help my students with motor and cognitive delays. The visual math, reading, and writing materials and activities will give my students the visual clues to develop fundamental skills.
