Along with the challenges that covid brings our school has been under construction and with no playground the majority of the time my students have been attending school. I have discovered my students are experiencing difficulties identifying and coping with their emotions, they are challenged when it comes to working with and listening to others, and I have seen deficits in their gross and fine motor skills. I love my students and I really want to improve their learning experience any way I can.
I have selected several items that I feel will help all of my students learn to understand and manage their emotions, work and play with others, and improve their gross and fine motor skills.
I am asking for a set of social emotional learning books, music, and games to help us identify our emotions. I am asking for art supplies for my students to create different art projects that allow us to explore our emotions skills. Sensory items will help provide them with ways to calm down.
My project also includes dramatic play items to help us retell stories, and work on our vocabulary through imaginative play. I know these activities will provide my students with opportunities to work on sharing, cooperation, and other social skills.
I have requested a couple games to reinforce creativity and cooperation as well as fine motor skills.
My students love art and creative play and they would love all of these items.
