My students are unique in the fact that they wanted to become office aids and requested it because we help other students feel comfortable at school. Sticky notes, pens, pencils, and other supplies to put in their lockers to let them know they can do the work and that we are here to help them. We will use the sticky notes to post notes in their lockers and around the school to promote a positive learning environment and make the students feel welcome. I want my students to know that we are more than just a place for education that we care about their social and emotional wellbeing also. COVID-19 impacted learning over the past two years by raising most students’ anxiety levels. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, I think the pandemic has made it more difficult for students to have their safety needs [These needs can be fulfilled by the family and society (e.g. police, schools, business, and medical care]) and love and belongingness needs met ( Belongingness, refers to a human emotional need for interpersonal relationships, affiliating, connectedness, and being part of a group).
