The social emotional learning books that will be added to my classroom library will be used to introduce and compliment lessons covered during classroom guidance lessons, in small groups, and with individual students experiencing crisis or trauma. By having these books available as hard copies, it will allow students to borrow the books when needed, as well as utilize multiple stories in the classroom in station groups as opposed to only having access to digital versions that must be presented to the entire class at the same time. Being able to physically follow along, refer back to, and practice reading out loud will improve our students’ reading and literacy skills.
