Learning to read is hard! Learning to read during uncertain times may seem almost impossible, but my students are doing it. They are becoming readers despite all the odds stacked against them in these trying times. Having the resources listed in my project will allow my students to continue their reading journey.
Play is defined as “voluntary engagement in enjoyable activities.” I believe in providing learning experiences where students can take charge of their learning while constructing new knowledge. For students to be engaged in these activities they have to be enjoyable.
The items in my project will provide students with enjoyable learning experiences throughout the day in a variety of settings including individual, small groups, and whole group. With these activities my students at Townsend Elementary will be able to form a strong literacy foundation that will set them up for academic success.
