The pandamic of Covid-19 has greatly impacted the academic progress of my students. The decline is revealed in the increasing number of students who are needing interventions in phonemic awareness, reading, mathematics, and social emotional reactions. Students are entering my classroom at all levels, and our site is experiencing more and more students who need intervention.
The purchase of another iPad for my classroom will pave the way to my classroom becoming 1:1 on devices. The main use of technology in my classroom is for academic advancement and intervention. I utilize Lexia for reading intervention and enrichment. Having an additional device in my room will decrease the amount of time I have to stop instruction to move another student onto a device after the previous student finishes. Currently I do not have enough devices for students to access online interventions. There have been days when some students miss the opportunity because there are not enough devices and time runs out.
