As a result of the pandemic, my students have missed foundational math skills as well as the opportunity to participate in Science experiments. The resources I am requesting will give students the opportunity to internalize the concepts they may have missed while being taught virtually.
The use of manipulatives provides a way for children to learn concepts through developmentally appropriate hands-on experiences as well as providing visual aids.
Additionally, the resources requested will provide hands-on opportunities in the classroom which is a proven method for building confidence in the material and long-term retention of each subject matter. Looking at things under a microscope brings them to life and question what is under the surface. All this is a vital part of shaping my students and taking a positive approach to science and math.
